OCEAN CITY, Md–  The Ocean City town council has voted to move forward with talks on whether or not to allow certain types of electric bikes on the boardwalk.

The bikes being considered are class 1 e-bikes. These bikes cannot go any faster than a normal bike, and they’re all about making pedaling easier for people.

Councilman Tony Deluca says he’s been pushing for this change as he says these bikes could help those recovering from an injury.

“The bike is ideal for individuals who are rehabilitating an injury or perhaps have bad knees, bad back and it can’t go any faster than a normal bike,” said Deluca.
