Delaware State Police asking for help locating wanted man
FREDERICA, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for burglary and other related charges.
At around 4 a.m. Tuesday, troopers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Maple Drive in Frederica for a reported burglary. On arrival, it was learned that 22-year-old Jared Lawson had entered the residence and engaged in a physical altercation with his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 26-year-old boyfriend. Lawson was reportedly in possession of a hammer and swung it at the boyfriend while threatening to kill him. Before fleeing, Lawson took two cell phones and a pair of AirPods headphones.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Troopers have not been able to locate Lawson, who currently has an active warrant out of Troop 3 for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, first degree burglary, aggravated menacing, terroristic threatening, and three counts of theft under $1500. Police say he may be driving a red 2001 Ford Focus and is known to frequent the Maple Drive area in Frederica.
