Del. health officials: daily COVID-19 cases remain below 100 over past week
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says new daily COVID-19 cases have remained below 100 for the past week.
Since March 11th, a total of 16,340 positive cases have been reported to DPH, including 8,613 who are considered recovered. The 7-day average for the percentage of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 increased slightly from 4.2% as of August 6th, to 4.3% as of August 13th. In addition, 38 individuals are currently hospitalized, 10 of whom are critically ill.
A total of 593 Delawareans have died from complications of COVID-19, five of which occurred in the last week.
Since March 11th, New Castle County has seen a total of 7,450 cases, while Kent has had 2,463, and Sussex has had 6,167. 260 cases have an unknown county.
The state is also reporting a total of 191,135 negative cases.
