City of Salisbury receives Maryland Smart Energy Community grant
SALISBURY, Md. – The City of Salisbury has announced that it has been awarded the 2020 Maryland Smart Energy Community grant.
We’re told the city has been awarded a $50,000 grant in order to continue the previously successful MSEC project of converting city streetlights to LED. This conversion of more than 150 lighting fixtures around the city to LED is expected to save the city 122,095 kWh annually.
“The City of Salisbury is proud of our long-term commitment not only to green energy, but to incorporating sustainability into all possible facets of our City. We have an amazing team of people, including our Sustainability Coordinator, Alyssa Hastings, and the City’s Green Team, who help guide us and our community towards sustainable options wherever possible,” said City Administrator Julia Glanz.
