Car crash in Harrington causes car to flip, leaving one dead

HARRINGTON, Del.- State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that happened Friday evening.

Police said the crash happened on South DuPont Highway at State Fair Blvd.

We’re told an 80-year-old man was driving on State Fair Boulevard when he attempted to cross the highway, but was hit by a 46-year-old man- driving a work van.

Officers said his car was pushed off the road and into the grass median, which caused the car to flip.

We’re told the driver of the car and an 81-year-old woman, riding in the passenger seat, were partially ejected.

They were both taken to the hospital where the passenger was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to call Delaware State Police at 302-698-8457.
