Annual Appeal Fundraiser being put on with changes, donor will match donations up to $10K

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md.- A charity in Worcester County is doing something special to help raise money for the community.

Worcester County GOLD said they will be hosting their annual Appeal Fundraiser with a little bit of a twist this year.

They said  they will have a donor that will match donations up to $10,000 dollars.

The Appeal Fundraiser is typically used to raise money for the Worcester County community to prevent some kind of tragic outcome.

This year that includes helping Worcester County residents recover from the effects of the pandemic.

We are told many people are struggling with loss of income and rental assistance right now, so they hope that with the help of donors they help people out.

“For the people we help, GOLD can be a last resort and we don’t just offer financial aid and basic need items. We offer hope and remind people that they be struggling, but they aren’t alone,” Nicholas Cranford, Executive Director of Worcester County GOLD, said.

Another thing that is different this year than years past is they usually send out mail asking for donations, but this year they are going virtual.

If you would like to donate to the organization, you can do so on their social media pages on Facebook or Instagram at Worcester County GOLD.
