Visitors share favorite traditions at the Delaware State Fair

HARRINGTON, Del. – Of course what’s a fair without taking part in some of your favorite traditions?  With five days left, there’s still plenty of time to head on over and enjoy some of those fair favorites that you love. Whether it’s stuffing your face with cotton candy and funnel cake or putting your taste buds to the test with some spicy barbecue, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And while the coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on how the fair is run this year, fairgoers still have the opportunity to take on the tilt-o-whirl or show off their talents in a number of contests. On Monday, the 47ABC crew went out and asked fairgoers what their favorite traditions are at the fair and what keeps them coming back every year.

“My favorite thing is always the livestock because I show here, and it’s just my favorite part did you see the livestock and be with all my livestock friends,” said Maycee Collison.

“I always loved riding the rides when I was little and all the food and everything there’s just so many different options here,” said Rebecca Moxley.

“We were in 4H so we used to do sheep and cows and pigs for years. We had a first date here and now we’re married so it’s a big deal for us to be here,” said Gabby DelNegro.

And of course, we’d love to hear what some of your favorite traditions are, so why don’t you tell us on 47ABC’s Facebook or Twitter right now.
