United Way of Delaware fighting systemic racism and promoting racial justice with new fund
DELAWARE–In Delaware the United Way is giving people a resource to fight systemic racism and promote social justice.
The Delaware Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund is part of a statewide effort with other non-profits and organizations who want to advocate for strategies and policies to address those issues.
The CEO and president of United Way of Delaware said she hopes that this fund is just a small part in creating the change that needs to happen.
“To be able to say we want to create a humanity where the color of our skin doesn’t matter it really is going to take all of us and it can’t be some of us and we gotta focus on what we can agree on versus what we disagree about and that we really are going to have to stand united,” Michelle Taylor, President and CEO of United Way DE, said.
Taylor said they already have some organizations willing to donate.
