UPDATE: Two dead following crash in Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police say two people were killed in a single vehicle crash Tuesday night.
We’re told that just before 10 p.m., a 2010 Dodge Challenger was traveling eastbound on Hardscrabble Road at an extremely high rate of speed, approaching a moderate left curve in the area of Shiloh Road. Due to high speed, the driver failed to negotiate the curve and veered off the roadway into the grass. The vehicle then overturned several times and hit an embankment while continuing to overturn, trapping the driver and passenger inside the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Carlos Santos-Lopez, and passenger, 30-year-old Mynor Rodriguez, were both pronounced dead at the scene. We’re told both were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
