Tier II sex offender arrested on sexual assault of minors charges

LAUREL, Del. —  A Tier II sex offender is now behind bars following a report of sexual assaults in Laurel.

The Laurel Police Department says a report was made on June 30th for allegations of sexual assaults to three minors.

Police say a criminal investigation was launched and officers quickly learned three minors had been assaulted over the course of several months.

Later that evening , 19-year-old Ivory Miller of Laurel, was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody without incident.

Miller is a Tier II convicted sex offender who was currently on house arrest stemming from previous sexual assaults of minors in 2019. Miller was charged with the following offences: Sex Offender Unlawful Sexual Conduct Against a Child, Unlawful Sexual Contact of the first Degree (person under 13), 2 counts of Sex Offender Unlawful Sexual Conduct Against a Child, and 2 counts of second degree Unlawful Sexual Contact.

He is currently being held at Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of a $33,000 cash only bail.
