Three arrested on drug, gun charges following traffic stop
DOVER, Del. – Police arrested three on drug and gun charges Friday afternoon in Dover.
Just after 12 p.m., officers observed the subject of an active firearms investigation inside of a vehicle in the area of South Bay Road and South Little Creek Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and while making contact with the three occupants, the subject of the investigation, 23-year-old Jawon Watson was seen reaching for a loaded handgun at his feet.
All three subjects were subsequently taken into custody. Another loaded handgun was located on 22-year-old Carlos Green, a rear seat passenger, as well as crack cocaine. A third loaded handgun was also found inside of the vehicle, as well as marijuana, crack cocaine, a digital scale, and fentanyl.
Watson was charged with four counts of possession of firearm/ammo by prohibited person, two counts of carry concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of firearm by person prohibited (drug possession), illegal gang possession, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation. He was held on a $64,500 cash bond.
Green was charged with carry concealed deadly weapon, two counts of possession of firearm/ammo by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, and drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting a $46,600 secured bond.
Joshua Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited (drug possession), possession of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $6,000 unsecured bond.
