The Reel Inn will still be open for business during White Marlin Open

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The owners of the Reel Inn Restaurant & Dock Bar located inside Harbour Island in Ocean City have announced they will still be open for business as usual during this year’s White Marlin Open.

This announcement comes after the organizers of the White Marlin Open posted on Facebook that they would be moving all public weigh-in viewings out of Harbour Island to the 3rd Street Ballpark this year. In the White Marlin Open’s Facebook post, they also mentioned that the general public will not be permitted access to Harbour Island during weigh-ins this year. The owners of the Reel Inn want to clarify to that this doesn’t apply to renters, residents, people docking their boats at Harbour Island, or their customers.

This means customers of the Reel Inn will still be able to enter Harbour Island to either dine in or get carry out from their establishment,  whereas those wanting to enter Harbour Island simply to view the tournament will not.

The White Marlin Open is typically the Reel Inn’s busiest week of the year, so even though the viewing location has changed this year, The Reel Inn wants its loyal customers to know they’re not going anywhere.

Scott Lathroum, one of the owners of the Reel Inn said, “Where Harbour island is a private community in the bylaws, we are a public. We are open to the public, always have been, always will be. So if people want to come here, and I hope they want to come here like they have in the past every White Marlin Open, they can enjoy it.”

Customers going to the Reel Inn should expect to see some changes when it comes to safety protocols at the restaurant. For instance, capacity guidelines are being strictly enforced, all servers are wearing masks and customers have to wear masks when inside the restaurant as well until they are seated.

If the restaurant starts forming a line, we’re told they can take customers phone number and text them when a table is available.
