Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice to hold virtual town hall to discuss police reform

DELAWARE – In Delaware, a group of people is getting ready for a video conference with members of the law enforcement community to discuss the need for reform.
The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice will be hosting the conference next Tuesday at 7 PM.
Organizers say the focus of the virtual town hall is the law enforcement system and the need for reform in the specific areas of police tactics and mass incarceration.
Panelists include the former superintendent of Delaware State Police Colonel Nathaniel McQueen, Jr. and retired state trooper Antonio Williams.
Members of the community say this is the step in the right direction to help bring change.
“A lot of times there’s this miscommunication between the public and law enforcement,” said the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice Communications & Social Media Committee Chair Calvin Jackson.
“I think we need to have a conversation about how to really reform the system and what can and can’t be done,” said Jackson.
Organizers say the deadline to sign up for the video conference is Tuesday morning and for more information about this event, click here.
