POLICE: One man shot at “large gathering” in Accomack County

ACCOMACK Co., VA – Police say one man is in critical condition after he was shot at a large gathering in Accomack County early Sunday morning.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened at approximately 12:09 a.m. on Shell Bridge Road in Painter on Sunday.

Once deputies arrived on scene, they say they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital by the Accomack County Department of Public Safety. He was then flown to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and was subsequently transferred to the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where he is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.
