Police investigating fatal fall from hotel balcony in OC

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Police Department says they are investigating a fatal fall from a third-floor balcony at a local hotel.

We’re told the incident happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday. Police responded to the area of 29th Street and Baltimore Avenue after learning that a man, identified as 22-year-old Caleb McCurdy, had fallen from a third story balcony. McCurdy was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident was accidental, however the cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the coming days.
