POLICE: Accidental drowning in Accomack County

ACCOMACK Co., VA – A man’s body was found floating in the water off of Scarborough’s Island on Tuesday, according to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office. We’re told an autopsy has since determined the man drowned.

Police say they received a call about the body Tuesday night at approximately 8:08 p.m.

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission helped the Sheriff’s Office recover the body from the water.

We’re told the body was taken to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office where it was determined that the cause of death was accidental drowning.

The man has been identified as 35-year-old Jeff Joseph Koltys Jr. of Onancock, Virginia.
