Over $1.4 million announced to support green infrastructure projects

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – More than $97,000 dollars are heading to the organization ShoreRivers to support a parking lot restoration project in Cambridge.
The money comes after the Chesapeake Bay Trust announced over $1.4 million dollars for green infrastructure projects.
The restoration project in Cambridge will take place at the American Legion Post 91.
According to the Chesapeake Bay Trust, the project will help manage and treat polluted stormwater runoff.
“So, we have a lot of responsibilities,” said Dr. Jana Davis, executive director at the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
“Our local governments do, the City of Cambridge does,” said Davis, “So, projects like this, certainly improve our water quality, which gets us all to our water quality goal.”
The new $1.4 million dollars will also help to improve communities and provide jobs, says the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
