Ocean City Council to vote on Boardwalk tram recommendation next Tuesday

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Town officials in Ocean City will decide this Tuesday whether or not the Boardwalk trams will run this summer season, says Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan.

The Ocean City Transportation Committee has made a recommendation to not run the Boardwalk trams this summer due to the coronavirus.

According to Worcester County Commissioner Joseph Mitrecic, it is very difficult to practice social distancing on the tram and that not everyone wears a face mask.

He adds that although the Boardwalk trams bring in a significant amount of money for the town, public safety is more important.
