Milford community to host school giveaway event

MILFORD, Del. – Several organizations in the community are gearing up for the Third Annual Love Milford Event to help kids in need get ready for school this fall regardless of what that may look like for them.

The event will take place on August 8th at the Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club.

Anchor Church along with several other businesses will be hosting the event.

They say kids in grades K-12 will get a uniform top and school supplies.

Organizers tell 47ABC this event is an opportunity to bring hope during a difficult time.

“So we know that we want to bring hope to those kids,” said Rachel Bowman, co-pastor at Anchor Church.

“We want to bring hope to those families especially during the pandemic when people may be out of work and may not have enough money to buy school supplies even more so than years previous,” said Bowman.
