Local nonprofit awarded for helping community members

QUEEN ANNES CO., Md. – One local non-profit organization was awarded for helping those in the community faced with a sudden and unexpected crisis.

On Wednesday, Comptroller Peter Franchot virtually presented the Queen Anne’s County William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award to Amy’s Army, a non-profit organization that helps those in the community faced with a sudden and unexpected crisis by providing financial assistance, transportation, childcare, or other crucial services.

Even during the pandemic, Amy’s Army has continued to work by providing meals and other aid to first responders, in addition to continuing their efforts on behalf of families in crisis.
