Governor Hogan announces additional steps to expand COVID-19 testing
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan has announced additional steps to further expand COVID-19 testing.
Hogan says that state health officials are strongly encouraging anyone who works in close-contact settings, as well as those who have traveled or returned to Maryland from out-of-state travel to get tested.
A new Maryland Department of Health order instructs healthcare providers statewide to order a test for anyone who requests it, regardless of symptoms. As some testing sites still require a doctor’s order, this new order ensures that this requirement may no longer pose an obstacle to those who want to be tested.
In addition, Hogan announced several new testing sites, one of which is in West Ocean City. Testing will be offered by appointment only on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the West Ocean City Park and Ride. To make an appointment, you can call 410-632-1100 ext. 1119.
