Dorchester County votes to start school year virtually
DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. — Dorchester County Public Schools will return virtually with remote learning to start the 2020-2021 school year.
The Board of Education voted unanimously in favor of the decision Thursday evening.
Superintendent W. David Bromwell that students will be starting school in phase one, which is a completely virtual format. Bromwell says the county will then follow more phased reopening’s that will slowly but safely allow more students back into the class room.
As of now there is no specific timeline on the phased reopenings. Board members say this is the Best possible solution that they could come up with under these circumstances.
