Delaware State Fair games come with new safety guidelines this year
HARRINGTON, Del. – From shooting hoops to squirting water, the Delaware State Fair has all kinds of fun games for people to enjoy and opportunities for people to win an assortment of exciting prizes.
“I like the games because they’re fun and they’re fun to play and it’s fun to look at all the prizes you can win,” said Elizabeth Loring, a fairgoer.
“Well, you’ve got the bananas out here,” said Frank Rodriguez, a fairgoer.
“Everyone wants to win something nice and these are the games you want to try it out with you know,” said Rodriguez.
But this year, there are new changes at the games fairgoers should know about that will help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“There’s new rules where if they give you a toy or whatever, they’re not taking it back,” said Karen Dill, a fairgoer.
“That’s the toy that you get, there’s no trading,” said Dill.
Officials say they have signs at each game reminding fairgoers to social distance.
On top of that, there is a lot more cleaning in between games to keep everyone healthy.
“We wipe off the balls,” said Rodriguez.
“The balls if they’re dirty you’ve got to wipe them off,” said Rodriguez.
According to the owner of Wades Rides Frank Zaitshik, fairgoers need to take responsibility as well and follow the new safety guidelines so that everyone can enjoy what the fair has to offer.
“It’s a double effort,” said Zaitshik, “We provide the opportunity. We hope that our customers will take that opportunity and turn that into reality.”
