Del. health officials reporting 48 new COVID-19 cases, 1 new death

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health is reporting one new death related to the coronavirus in the state.

We’re told the 64-year-old New Castle County man had underlying health conditions. To date, 515 Delawareans have died as a result of the virus.

Officials also say there are 48 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 12,462. 5,583 of those cases have been in New Castle County, while 4,988 have been in Sussex, and 1,790 in Kent. At this time, 57 individuals are hospitalized, 11 of whom are critically ill.

A total of 6,851 Delawareans have made a full recovery from COVID-19.
