Crisfield to hold fireworks show with social distancing
CRISFIELD, Md. – People in Crisfield are getting ready for their 4th of July fireworks, but town officials are asking everyone to follow safety guidelines.
The event, which is being led by the American Legion Post 16 and the Somers Cove Marina, is one of the few fireworks displays being held this year on the shore.
The fireworks display starts at 9 PM and town officials say some restaurants will extend their hours for people to grab a bite to eat.
They are also asking people to stay in their cars or on their boats during the show.
They say they are expecting to have a lot of spectators, which is why they are asking everyone to follow guidelines.
“This is for the community and the community really needs it and we want to have some time out with our families and friends and we just can’t wait,” said the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce President Buddy Ward, “It’s going to a great night in Crisfield, so please come out.”
“Maintain the social distance, but come on out and have some family fun in Crisfield,” said Ward.
Town officials say people will be able to view the fireworks at almost any location in Crisfield.
