City of Dover holding special election to fill council seat

DOVER, Del. – The City of Dover announced on Facebook Tuesday afternoon that they will be holding a Special First District Municipal election.

We’re told this election is to fill the unexpired term of the First District City Council seat. The term of office is September 14, 2020 through May 10, 2021.

The deadline to file a nominating petition with the City Clerk is Friday, July 17th, at 4:30 p.m. The nominating petition can be found here.
