Central Delaware NAACP helping with voter registration
DOVER, Del. – The Central Delaware NAACP Branch is trying to get as many people registered to vote as they can before the deadline in September.
The organization is hosting in-person registration events in Dover on the last two Saturdays in July but they may also continue them into September. If you can’t make it to an event, members of the organization are also on hand to answer questions over the phone, by email or even in-person at your convenience. Officials tell 47 ABC, they believe some people may be misinformed about who is eligible to vote so their goal is to empower voters by providing awareness, training and support to help with registration as well as education.
“The ability to vote is the most critical or important political right a citizen can have. The most critical way an individual can participate in government decision making is by exercising their fundamental right to vote,” says Gerald Rocha Sr., the second vice president for the Central Delaware NAACP Branch.
If you can’t make it to an in-person voter registration event, you can reach out to Gerald Rocha by phone at 302-423-1957 or email at glrocha1906@gmail.com.
