Attendees of Dover church conferences encouraged to get tested for COVID-19
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health is encouraging members of a Dover church as well as attendees of the church’s weekend conference to get tested for COVID-19.
We’re told this recommendation comes after at least three members of the Destiny Christian Church in Dover tested positive for COVID-19. At least two of the individuals attended recent services before learning they were positive for the disease, potentially exposing other church members. The church held a three-day conference this weekend, as well as a three-day conference on the weekend of July 17th through 19th, drawing a few hundred people each weekend.
DPH and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency are working with the leadership of the Destiny Christian Church to offer testing to members of the congregation and conference attendees on Tuesday, July 28th, from 10 .am. until 1 p.m., at Destiny Christian Church in Dover. This testing event will also be open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required, and can be completed online.
