Artists needed to paint downtown electrical boxes
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury artists, your talents are needed to spruce up some electrical boxes downtown.
The Arts and Entertainment District is accepting proposals from local artists to assign each artist one of seven available utility boxes downtown.
To apply, artists can submit a design proposal. Then once the winners are selected, they’ll be able to get started on their artwork!
Jamie Heater, the Executive Director of the Arts and Entertainment District, tells us that art is something that can really make downtown feel more welcoming and happy, especially during the pandemic.
“Even before coronavirus, I was a strong believer that this kind of art and these kinds of community things add to life, and with coronavirus I feel like it just makes it even more meaningful,” she said.
Artist proposals should be submitted by August 15 and winners will be selected by the 31st. To submit a proposal, you can contact the Arts and Entertinament District via their website.
