64-Year-Old killed in Georgetown crash

GEORGETOWN, Del. – A 64-year-old man is dead after police say his car became completely engulfed in flames after a crash.

Police say the crash happened on Friday just before 1 o’clock in the afternoon, when that man, identified as Raymond L. Morris, was driving his Jeep Cherokee on Old Furnace Road. For unknown reasons, police say Morris didn’t stay in his lane, and went partially off the road.

Police say the driver then over-corrected, causing the car to flip over several times before bursting into flames.

A 71-year-old passenger was rescued from the car by a witness and taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Morris was trapped inside of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
