Wicomico County’s Youth Fishing Derby is going virtual

SALISBURY, Md. — A longtime Wicomico County tradition is going virtual this year due to -19 restrictions.

The Wicomico County Recreation and Parks’ free youth fishing derby will take place from June 6th to June 13th.

We’re told children ages 15 and under can participate anywhere they want, but officials are suggesting they practice social distancing and limit gatherings to 10 people or less.

Boys and girls can compete in the categories of Most Fish Caught in a Single Day, Most Unusual Catch and Longest Fish.

Each winner will receive a $10 DICK’s Sporting Goods gift certificate and winners’ names and photos will be posted on social media.
