SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism is asking the county to purchase an acre of land near the Mason Dixon Sports Complex in Delmar and help bring more foot traffic to the area.

On Tuesday, the director of Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism, Steve Miller, discussed the proposal with council members during a work session.

Right now the county already owns two acres of land next to the available acre and we’re told the land could be used for parking or to expand the complex.

“We built a new ballfield out there last year that made improvements to existing ball fields that they have, so the town and the local league people have stepped forward, have expressed interest in wanting to do more and so this would give us that opportunity to certainly do more,” said Miller.

Miller says the Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism will ask for community feedback to see what people would like to see there in the future.
