Troopers investigating a fatal crash
DELAWARE CITY, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a 2020 Jeep Compass was traveling eastbound on Hamburg Road. While a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling southbound on Rt. 9.
According to police, the Jeep Compass had stopped at the stop sign but when they attempted to turn left they crashed into the Dodge Ram. Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the Dodge, a 42-year-old woman from Delaware City, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was released. The driver of the Jeep, an 85-year-old woman from New Castle, was unable to recover from her sustained injuries and died on Wednesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
