Town of Berlin nominated for best small town for shopping in USA Today contest

BERLIN, Md. – This week the town of Berlin got nominated by USA Today for a chance to win this year’s title of Best Small Town for Shopping, but they need your help to win.

Town officials are asking everyone to vote for the Town of Berlin on the USA Today’s Ten Best website.

The town was named America’s Coolest Small Town in a contest by Budget Travel back in 2014.

They say winning this year would help bring more attention to businesses in the Downtown area especially during a time when they’ve been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Especially now because the businesses were shut down for so long, to get this national attention, I think would be spectacular for the businesses here,” said Ivy Wells, the town’s economic and community development director.

“We can really use an extra push,” said Wells.
