Shore Up! to receive federal grant for head start program

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Andy Harris has announced the award of a $9,805,843 federal grant to Shore Up! in Salisbury.

Shore Up! stands for “Self-Help on Rural Economics and Urban Programs”, and focuses on helping people reach personal economic independence.

We’re told the Administration for Children and Families allocated the funds to the facility under the Head Start Program. Specifically, the Head Start Program is designed to promote school readiness of children ages birth to five years old from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child.
