School districts continue meal distribution sites for summer

MARYLAND – As the summer break for schools approaches, the Wicomico County Public School District is coming up with plans for meal distribution.

The Director of Food Services for the district, Eric Goslee, says they will continue to serve students at eleven of their meal distribution sites. Goslee says they will have the distributions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. He adds that continuing these services beyond the end of the school year, which is next week, is crucial for some students.

“It’s very important. During the summer months, a lot of kids don’t have access to healthy meals. Doing it throughout the summer will give some continuity in school meals and access to meals when schools are closed,” says Eric Goslee, the Director of Food Services for Wicomico County Public Schools.

Goslee says they are working out when the times of the distributions will be and they will have those logistics worked out by next Wednesday. School districts like Worcester and Somerset say they will continue their distributions. Dorchester County says they will continue theirs through June 25th.
