Salisbury University hosting panel focused on race

SALISBURY, Md. – Leaders at Salisbury University are trying to start a conversation about race and how it impacts all of us by hosting a virtual panel tomorrow night.

Joan Williams, the University’s new Chief Diversity Officer, tells 47 ABC she was looking for a way to start a dialogue about race – while including professionals who can add education and insight. She says she feels the panel is the perfect way to do this.

Williams says she doesn’t want the panel to be like a lecture, but rather a place where everyone can talk, including those who may not feel very educated on the topic.

“As long as people are willing to raise their hands and say maybe I don’t understand, maybe I don’t know, but I am willing to learn, I understand it is important for me to learn,” Williams said.

The panel will be hosted Thursday night at 5:00 via Zoom. To register for the event, click here.
