PRMC doctor: Not a lot of benefit to wearing masks outside
SALISBURY, Md. – Dr. Chris Snyder says the cases coming into Peninsula Regional Medical Center now are not as severe as they were before.
He says PRMC currently has about 20 to 25 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The good news is they were able to close the big critical care COVID unit in the basement and the coronavirus patients who need to be in the ICU can be managed in their main ICU.
As for keeping the number of cases low, Dr. Snyder says it’s still a good idea to be wearing a mask when you’re inside a building, “If you’re in enclosed areas and you’re confined you should probably still protect yourself or protect others from you because that’s basically what the mask does. I don’t think outside there’s a lot of benefit because of the way the air works.”
Dr. Chris Snyder says it’s still good to avoid large gatherings even outside. He also tells 47 ABC there’s still a lot of research that has to be done when it comes to antibodies and vaccines and things like that take time to get right
