One injured in Dover shooting, police investigating

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating an early morning shooting that injured one.

We’re told that officers responded to the 100 block of S. New Street just before 12:45 a.m. for a report of shots fired. It was learned that two unknown male subjects were involved in an altercation in the area, which resulted in one of the subjects firing a gun multiple times.

A short time later, officers learned that the female victim had arrived at the hospital with a wound to her leg. It was determined that the wound was the result of debris hitting her leg after a bullet hit the asphalt. The victim’s vehicle was also hit in the driver side door by a single round.
