Marty’s Playland in Ocean City reopens with new safety measures

OCEAN CITY, Md. – After months of being shut down, Maryland arcades are beginning to safely reopen as part of the state’s Road Map To Recovery.

Arcades were allowed to reopen starting yesterday at 5 PM and Marty’s Playland in Ocean City is now open.

According to the manager of Marty’s Playland, Joe Mohr, they have been preparing for weeks.

They have added foaming hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipe stations all throughout the arcade. They are also reminding people to stay six feet apart and are operating at just 50 percent capacity.

Despite some restrictions, Mohr says he is happy to see the arcade’s doors open again.

“I’m just so happy to see everything get close to normal,” said Mohr.

“I mean it’s not back to normal, but at least people are on the boardwalk and now they’re allowed to go in and out of the shops, and the arcades and the amusement parks,” said Mohr.

Mohr says Marty’s Playland is also offering its guests free disposable gloves and they’re taking all precautions necessary to keep everyone safe.

Marty’s Playland is also encouraging people to share feedback on social media about their experiences there in order to provide the best customer experience under these new safety measures.
