Lefty’s Alley & Eats unveils new drive-in movie theatre at Thursday night event

LEWES, Del.- A time when some movie theatres are still closed, one Lewes company is jumping on board with the trend of drive-in movie theatres, and they unveiled it at their VIP event Thursday night.

Lefty’s Alley and Eats have been working on this new attraction for the last three months during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Owner, D.J. Hill,  told us that the drive-in theatre will be available to the public starting June 22 when they reopen.

The drive-in movie theatre is something Hill wanted to add for awhile, and now that it’s happening he hopes it will give people another option to watch movies during this time.

“Not all theatres are closed right now, you know the one down the streets still open and their showing some great retro films too, but I think there’s still some people that have some hesitancy about going out and you know that’s the nitch that we’re going to fill,” Hill said.

Hill said the new attraction will offer food and beverage servers on roller skates.

He also adds that they will be collaborating with Clear Space Productions to stream their shows starting in July on Sundays.
