BERLIN, Md. – In Berin, one high school student is doing everything he can to help a local 9-year-old girl battling cancer.
Adam Diehl is a local soon to be sophomore who started a Go Fund Me to raise money for nine-year-old Addie who is battling cancer. Addie also has a genetic mutation called the Philadelphia chromosome.
Adam says his parents have known Addie’s parents for years, and he knew he needed to do something to help.
“I know it’s going to help a lot, but it won’t take away her pain, and so I’m hoping that even just a little bit will help with whatever,” Adam said.
Adam actually came up with the idea for the fundraiser when his swim coach challenged him to come up with a goal out of the water, and Adam chose to challenge himself to bear walk one mile. Then, he decided to turn that into a fundraiser for Addie.
The fundraiser already exceeded it’s goal of $1,000 but will stay open until June 12 for donations. If you
