Health officials reporting 27 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths in Del.

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health is announcing two new deaths from coronavirus in the state.

We’re told one of the individuals was a New Castle County resident, while the other was a Sussex County resident. Both reportedly had underlying health conditions, and ranged in age from 22 to 87. To date, 375 Delawareans have died from complications of COVID-19.

Officials have also announced an additional 27 cases, bringing the statewide total to 9,712. Sussex County has seen 4,305 cases, while Kent has seen 1,451, and New Castle has seen 3,903. 153 individuals are currently hospitalized, 30 of whom are critically ill.

A total of 5,493 Delawareans have made a full recovery from the virus.
