Georgetown man arrested on robbery charges
GEORGETOWN, Del. – Georgetown Police have arrested a man in connection to a robbery that happened last weekend.
According to police, the incident took place early Sunday morning, in the 100 block of North Race Street. On arrival, police learned that the victim was sitting in his vehicle when the suspect approached him and forcibly pulled him from his vehicle. The victim was allegedly held by his throat while the suspect stole cash and his cell phone before fleeing the scene.
Further investigation led detectives to identify 26-year-old Luis Bautista-Tax as the suspect. On Tuesday, Bautista-Tax was located inside an apartment building on North Race Street and taken into custody. He was charged with second degree robbery, extortion, and second degree conspiracy, and was released on a $12,000 unsecured bond.
