COVID-19 related hospitalizations drop below 1,000, positivity rate drops below 8% in Md.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan announced on Monday that Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 8%.

The state’s current positivity rate is 7.38%, which is down more than 72% from its peak in April. The state has now conducted over 435,000 tests.

In addition, total current hospitalizations have dropped below 1,000, which is their lowest level since April 10th. There are currently 392 ICU beds and 587 acute care beds in use for COVID-19 patients.

The governor also says there are now more than 115 major testing sites statewide.
