BREAKING: Maryland entering phase two of reopening on Friday

MARYLAND – Governor Larry Hogan announced on Wednesday that the state will move into Phase two of reopening on Friday at 5 p.m.

The phase also lifts the ban closing non-essential businesses. Nail salons, tanning salons, and massage/tattoo parlors will be able to open at 50% capacity and by appointment only. However, restaurants will still only be allowed to offer outdoor seating or carry out. Gyms, theaters, and enclosed malls will also remain closed.

In addition, starting Monday, June 8th, state government will begin returning to more normal operations. The MVA and other customer-facing agencies will begin phased reopening, transit will begin returning to more normal schedules, and the state Board of Education will continue with its plan to reopen child care centers.

Hogan also added that those who can telework should continue to do so.
