BREAKING: Frankford Fire Co. employee fired, controversial social media post
FRANKFORD, Del. – The board of directors for the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company unanimously voted to terminate an employee on Monday night after she posted a controversial video online.
The employee posted a TiKTok video reenacting a comedy sketch that the department says made “light of racism within the police force”. The department learned about the video late Sunday night and less than 24 hours later she’s no longer an employee there. The president of the fire company tells 47 ABC, they had no choice but to take quick action and make it clear that her actions are not in line with their standards.
“If you are offended by a comedian, you have the opportunity to turn the channel. You have an opportunity to maybe not support the sponsors of the comedy show. When your loved one is dying, when your house is on fire, when you’re in a bad vehicle crash and you call 911 you don’t get an opportunity to pick another crew,” says Robbie Murray, the president of the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company.
47 ABC also reached out to the town of Frankford but they had no comment. There are rumors the employee in the video also works at Delmar Volunteer Fire Department but Delmar officials have not gotten back to us.
