Black Lives Matter painted on Salisbury sidewalk
SALISBURY, Md. – In Salisbury, you may notice something new on the sidewalk if you’re in the Broad Street area. On Monday night, community members and local artists started painting Black lives Matter on the sidewalk.
Local artist Brandon Bell tells 47 ABC he and another artist, Deserea Martin, got permission from the city to paint the art in the a certain spot. They gathered the supplies they would need and then invited community members to come help paint on Monday night.
Bell tells 47 ABC they’ll be back out there painting on Tuesday night around five o’clock, and anyone is welcome to join.
The painting should be complete by Wednesday, and on Friday, city officials will rename Broad Street as Black Lives Matter Boulevard. That ceremony will take place at the corner corner of Poplar Street and Broad Street at 10 a.m.
