Weekend robbery in Ocean City leads to charges for three
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Police say three people were arrested early Saturday morning after it was learned that they assaulted and robbed three juveniles.
Police say they were approached by the juveniles at around 1:22 a.m., at 2nd Street and Atlantic Avenue. The juveniles reported that they were walking east on Talbot Street when they were assaulted and robbed by three male suspects.
The victims were evaluated on scene for non-life threatening injuries.
As police were obtaining suspect information, one of the victims observed the suspects on 2nd Street. The suspects then fled into the Plim Plaza Hotel, where officers eventually found them inside a hotel room. The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Jason Gilbert of Millsboro, 22-year-old Jacob Watson Jr. of New Castle, and 20-year-old Hassan Elabbadi of New Castle. Police recovered the items stolen from the victims.
All three suspects were charged with three counts of robbery, three counts of second degree assault, two counts of theft $100 to less than $1500, and one count of theft less than $100. Watson and Elabbadi were released on their own recognizance, while Gilbert was held at the Worcester County Jail.
