Weather Tidbits: Uncommon Clouds

Lenticular and mammatus clouds may be uncommon but they are neat and are the focus of this Weather Tidbits. Lenticular clouds are smooth, round, lens-like shape that look like UFO or pancakes, that form around mountainous areas. Mammatus clouds are clouds that hang from the underside of a thundercloud and resemble a cow’s udder. Their presence means a powerful thunderstorm and has a formation process unique than all other clouds.
